FASHION MEN PARIS

A minimalist enhancement infuses a structured opulence in men’s fashion

In an uncertain, masked era, fashion has become an escape, a dream, a breath of fresh air.
The Paris and Milan men’s collections for 2020-21 delivered a diverse array of styles, with relaxed structured tailoring, muted and vibrant colors and enough elegant whimsy to persuade us to be part of this new direction in menswear.

PRADA

Miuccia Prada created her last collection in men’s wear before passing the torch to Raf Simmons. Prada delivered a minimalist silhouette that also is practical, timeless and efficient. Prada said. “The clothes are simple — but with the concept of simplicity as an antidote to useless complication. This is a moment that requires some seriousness, a moment to think and to reflect on things. What do we do, what is fashion for, what are we here for? What can fashion contribute, to a community?”

DOLCE & GABBANA

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented their latest Alta Moda and Alta Sartoria collections recently in Milan.

The fashion show was filmed around the spectacular frescoes and elegant details rendered in the Palazzo Dolce & Gabbana where this male haute couture revue filled with bespoke and Alta Moda broke the rules and took men’s fashion in a daring and adventurous dreamlike tour of suits, robes, caftans, shirts and slacks in luxurious fabrics.

An exclusive collection of men’s jewelry was also showcased. The Alta Gioielleria creations included a pink gold “DG7 Gems full pavé” watch and a detachable yellow and white gold brooch-pendant embellished with rhodolite garnets, rubies and diamonds. The look is enriched with rings in yellow and white gold that boast various precious stones.
